On May 16th, 2018 join cyclists worldwide in a silent, slow-paced ride in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways. Please join us.
6:00 pm arrive in front of City Hall — Register at the BikeHouston tent
6:30-6:45 pm Speakers + ride protocol and safety instructions
7:00 pm Roll out
**Please wear white clothing in memory of those that have been injured or killed**
Although people on bikes have a legal right to share the road with people in cars, the motoring public often is not aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the bicyclists themselves. The ride has several goals:
To honor those who have been injured or killed...
To raise awareness that we are here
To ask that we all share the road
To educate all Houstonians of the fact that bicyclists have a legal right to the road
The Ride of Silence is similar to a funeral procession. Participants of all abilities are invited to join the procession. Please wear a plain white shirt and arrive no later than 6:45 pm. The ride will be 10 miles long. AND LIGHTS ARE REQUIRED**
