In May 2017 Terry and wife, Harris Co Sheriff Deputy Chauna Thompson murdered John Hernandez at Denny's restaurant in front of his wife and young daughter.
Since then John's family, loved ones and community activist have continued to fight for justice.
In April 2018, the Thompson's lost their request for 'change of venue' claiming that they would not get a fair trial due to the intense media coverage on the case. The Thompson's also lost their request to dismiss the assistant district attorney handling the case. It was at the decision-making change of venue hearing that District 178 Court Judge Kelli Johnson expressed to each attorney that they be ready for trial.
Terry Thompson's trial is set to begin May 1...8th at 9 a.m.
Chauna Thompson's trial is set to begin June 1st at 9 a.m.
