Well I truly believe that we are BLESSED and so we must BLESS others!
The Houston Food Bank feeds a multitude and they have over 300 openings for volunteers each month to help inspect, sort and repack donated food items for community distribution. Volunteer support is critical to the mission of the Houston Food Bank which is leading the charge to fight against hunger!
You must create a profile & register to volunteer!

• Volunteers MUST be at least 6 years old and supervised by parent or guardian throughout the shift.
• All volunteers under the age of 18 also need a completed Youth Volunteer Consent Form signed by a parent or guardian. Here’s the link for parents to complete for volunteers under 18 years of age.

Please plan to arrive at least fifteen (15) minutes before your scheduled volunteer shift so you can check in, receive instructions and start on time. If you arrive after the start of your shift, you may have to wait up to 30 minutes for orientation and assignment.
DISCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Description of Duties Varies with the makeup volunteers for shift. Most of the projects at the warehouse involve inspection, sorting, and repackaging of donated food items for community distribution.
Once you have completed your profile. Go to the calendar for Portwell.
Choose the date: Saturday, March 17th, 2018 time slot 8am-12pm

You will receive a confirmation letter from the Houston Food Bank upon completion of registration and the selection of the volunteer date of March 17, 2018. If you do not receive one, please contact them.
If space permits it, you may park in the front parking lot, but in the event of a large volunteer turnout, you may be directed to our overflow lot located behind the building.
Closed-toe shoes REQUIRED — smashed toes are no fun, so we strongly enforce this safety precaution. Casual dress, long pants (preferred), t-shirt with sleeves. If you have a Houston's Ladies Night Out t-shirt, please wear it. If you would like to order one, please email me at: [email protected]
