River Oaks Academics is proud to present a very unique and beneficial course for students of knowledge and laymen alike. Before you have the shariah and before you have fiqh, you have the science of usul ul fiqh — the science that teaches us how to derive Islamic rulings when looking at the Quran, Sunnah and other sources. This science is what we practice in our everyday lives as it pertains to the actions of every single Muslim. It deals specifically with how we apply rulings in Islam, from the broad spectrum of being halaal to being haraam.
Ever read the Quran and wondered if an ayah meant that a certain ruling was an obligation for you or not? What did the Prophet (s) mean when he commanded certain things and prohibited others? What are the original sources of rulings in Islam? All these questions and more will be answered in our upcoming seminar on Usul ul Fiqh.
