After Hurricane Harvey devastated several local colonies, the bats of Houston have been on many people's minds. Join Dr. Cullen Geiselman to learn more about our local bats. In particular, you’ll learn why bats are crucial for pest control, seed dispersal, and pollination. While you learn, enjoy a selection of beers from Saint Arnold Brewing Company, light snacks, and Katz Coffee. Weather permitting, we’ll go on a night hike to look for bats.

Instructor bio: Dr. Cullen Geiselman holds a BA in Environmental Science and Policy from Duke University and an MA and PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Columbia University. Her research focuses on seed dispersal and pollination by bats.
