«Resurrection MCC is extremely grateful for the support of the John Palmer Art Gallery & Studio. It's remarkable and humbling to see the outpouring of community support from individuals and businesses like John Palmer Art in the wake the devastation we experienced from Harvey. The rapid transformation of the gallery's annual auction to a fundraiser for our church is met with praise and many blessings.» Rev. Troy Treash, Senior Pastor
John and I are heartbroken for our Houston. At the same time, we are monumentally inspired by the courage and strength of the human spirit that will rebuild our great city.
For close to ten years, our largest gallery event of the year has been «Collector's Night» in September. For the last several months, it's been widely promoted via mailed invitation, Facebook event invitation, e-blasts from me and sponsored ads online. In the wake of Harvey, John and I cannot in good conscience proceed with a traditional business event without a very significant philanthropic tie to local relief efforts.
For this reason, our September 9th auction event will proceed and it will be a fundraiser for the Resurrection Metropolitan Community Church that was flooded during the storm. At the close of the event, the gallery will give 50% of the proceeds to this local church that has done so much for our community for so long.
This event is totally free. It is open to absolutely everyone. It is completely casual. We are going to serve pizza and wine. John and I want to welcome you into our home for a peaceful evening of community bonding in a place of healing and positive energy.
The Auction to support Resurrection MCC will be held on Saturday, September 9th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at our home and gallery, 1218 Heights Blvd., Houston, TX 77008.
