Musicians from KINETIC, Houston's own conductorless ensemble, present an Open Rehearsal Demonstration, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the uniquely collaborative process of chamber music making. Featuring a KINETIC string quartet, audiences are invited to observe and participate in the artistic exploration and decision-making that go into a piece's final performance. The demonstration will conclude with a short performance by the quartet. This performance is held in conjunction with the exhibition «Repeater» by Brooklyn-based artist David Scanavino, on view in the Moody’s Central Gallery through September 10.
KINETIC is a new conductorless ensemble based in Houston, that aspires to enrich the musical vibrancy of the city’s cultural landscape through live performances, distinct programming, and interactive learning experiences. Comprised of sixteen passionate and diverse emerging professional string musicians, KINETIC thrives on its uniquely collaborative artistic approach to create engaging musical experiences for the great city of Houston. It is a world-class ensemble that proudly calls Houston home.
